About The Reciter: Sheikh Mishary bin Rashid Alafasy is a Kuwaiti born Qari and a Munshid. He studied at the Islamic University of Madinah and specialized in the ten readings and translations of
the Quran. He is the Imam of Masjid Al-Kabir GrandMosque (Kuwait) in Kuwait City. He is actually a master of the maqamat and uses a wide range of maqamat in his recitation. This of course is
in addition to his amazing tajweed and his knowledge of the the various
qira’at/riwayat. Masha’Allah, and it’s no wonder he’s one of the world’s most
popular Qurra at the moment. He
makes frequent appearances on television. Many of his recitations can be also
